Things He Sailed Today
By Joe Johnson, Beatle Brunch Host

As you're reading this, I am sailing with a boatload of Brunch listeners on The Flower Power Cruise. Our guests include Susan Gaetano and her husband Ken who won the cruise on The Brunch.  We've been enjoying personal concerts at sea by Chad and Jeremy, Micky Dolenz, The 5th Dimension, The Family Stone, Spencer Davis, The Yardbirds, The Zombies and many others. Next year's lineup is already posted and it's SO fab, that it's been extended to a week. Click here.

Sorry if you weren't able to make it, but you have a quick opportunity to join me on the 70's Rock and Romance Cruise sailing March 11th with a lineup that includes Peter Frampton and co-host Barry Williams. So you'll have The Brady Bunch and Beatle Brunch. Try saying that three times fast. Hope you can make it, Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!

This year is shaping up to be quite the year for music fans. If you're more of a land-lubber, experience Abbey Road on the River with me in May. They've partnered up with StarVistaLive, who puts on The Flower Power Cruises and the others, and this Memorial weekend, you can meet Peter Asher, Peter Noone and dozens of Beatle Bands, including The Jukebox and The Weeklings, both featured on The Brunch recently. These guys and the others will blow your mind. Don't miss it!

I attended my first Abbey Road on The River last year and I'm determined never to miss another one. Get all the details and tickets here.  Use promo code Beatle Brunch to $ave.

The Beatle Who Vanished May Re-Appear on The Big Screen

Rock & Roll Detective, Jim Berkenstadt, long time friend of the show and of Brunch Host Joe Johnson, has just linked up with Roy Orbison's son Alex to option Jim's book, "The Beatle Who Vanished", the story of 13-day fill-in drummer Jimmy Nichol, who gained notoriety when he filled in for Ringo on The Beatles first world tour in 1964, seen below with The Beatles on tour.

Orbison added, "It's a truly compelling story of the man who rescued The Beatles' first world tour from disaster. He spent his 15 minutes of fame by the age of 25 then seemingly vanished.  This is a story that is both intimate and epic." Orbison and Hamilton are hoping to foster the creation of an unprecedented soundtrack that will re-create the music from The Beatles' tour with Nichol and from his entire musical career.

Hear Jim's interview with Joe J in the Brunch Bytes section of www.brunchradio.com for the full story and more.

Ringo's Back Into the Studio, Booglaloo!

The Ringed one has been working almost as hard posting twitter pics as he has been recording new songs for his next album. The now 2-time"Rock and Roll Hall of Famer" has been using the "contacts" app on his i-phone to enlist the musicianship of legendary pals, including Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmidt, Peter Frampton, Steve Lukather and Richard Page.

Keep up with Ringo on his twitter feed @ringostarrmusic and of course, follow @beatlebrunch there as well. We sometimes scoop Ringo, so follow us both.

No info on a release date from Ringo just yet but you can be sure as a submarine is yellow, that we'll have the new tunes as soon as they're ready.

See The Fab Faux in Fort Lauderdale This Friday!

Last minute tickets remain for The Champagne of Tribute Acts, The Fab Faux, THIS FRIDAY night March 3rd at Parker Playhouse Ft. Lauderdale. Get tickets at www.parkerplayhouse.com.

This First Thursday You're the Captain of the Ship!

Since Brunch Host Joe Johnson and first skipper Don E Gee are sailing on the Flower Power Cruise this week, they'll both most likely miss the opportunity to chat live with Beatle fans all over the net this Thursday.  But, don't let that keep you below deck. Click on brunchradio.com this Thursday night, March 2nd at 8 pm eastern and chat with your Beatle Buds. There's no charge to enter the chat and you might even learn a thing or two, like the details of member Jen's collection of Linda McCartney frozen dinner boxes or how many times member Margot has won the Mind Games contest.  Look for the banner that looks like this one on our site and click it to enter. Have fun. Don't' tell any tales out of school. Don E is wanted in three states.
