The Beatle Brunch Cruise
Was Awesome!

A Splendid Time Was Guaranteed By All

Well Beatle Fans! It’s back to the real world after spending an entire week on the high seas, high on Beatles music and great friends! We just returned from our 5th Beatle Brunch Cruise, on the Radisson Seven Seas Navigator, sailing from Ft. Lauderdale to the western Caribbean for 7 rockin’ days, and what a time we had!

The Beatle tribute band, “Revolution”, played four concerts on board for our Beatlemaniac group! Tim Piper, Jim Neil, Greg Piper and Carmine Grippo gave us searing renditions of The Beatles, all the way from the Cavern days, right through Beatlemania, to the Sgt. Pepper period and up on the roof for “Get Back”. They even performed a show on deck 10 by the pool. What could be better than listening to The Beatles, watching the sun set, and pulling into Key West? Nothing is real, or so it seemed. Then, they blew us away with their “Unplugged” show late one night, where all the Beatle fans got to “sing along” to their favorite Beatles songs.

During the week, I hosted several lectures (though it sounds so scholarly to say “lecture”, it was really a fun-fact-filled hour of videos and prizes). We watched The Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, complete with the old corny commercials, then gave away tons of Beatle Brunch prizes to our great group of fans. On Thursday, the boys from Revolution joined me on stage for our “Evolution of The Beatles” show, where we talked about how the songs came together, complete with Fab examples by John and Paul (Tim and Jim). We even had our Beatly-talented artist, Rob Korhonen, show us how he sketches by drawing Tim “Lennon” Piper for us in Galileo’s lounge.

Our grand prize Beatle Brunch winner was Susan Krankowski from Sarasota, Florida, who listens to Beatle Brunch every Sunday on Oldies 108. Susan partied all week with her friend Tracy and has made friends for life! We’re glad you came along. Also congrats and welcome to Sandi from Coral Springs, who won the cruise from Majic 102.7 in South Florida.

Of course we had all the fun and luxury you’d expect on a top of the line Radisson cruise. Boy, I really miss my room service about now!
Needless to say, the entire Navigator was rocking (sometimes literally) with “Beatles, Beatles, Beatles”, said Judy from New York City. We also met a great gang of fans, including Susan and Bob from Weston, Florida; Johnny B. and his wife Renee from Asheville, NC; Rick from Ft. Lauderdale; Jill from Rochester; Scott and Alicia from San Francisco; Bob from Ft. Lauderdale, and many others who traveled with us from as far away as South Hampton, England to sing with the boys on the Yellow Submarine!

Check out all the cool pics our graphic artist Rob has put up. You might see yourself, or maybe you can see yourself coming with us next time. All I can say is this trip was sold out thanks to our Beatle Brunch fans! So next time, make your reservations early so you don’t miss this Magical Mystery Cruise! Stay tuned and listen the weekend of April 3-4 to hear a wrapup on the radio.

Revolution tunes up for the performance by the pool with dancing and appetizers. Many people said this was their favorite performace, with the sunset in the background.
