Chat
with Joey Molland He's been very busy these days so we are
lucky to catch him at the right time. Joey will be making a few
appearances, one in Las Vegas, April with the band Orleans of "Still
The One" fame; they call themselves RPM (Rock and Pop
Masters) and in May, an Atlanta, Georgia gig of which we'll have
more info on this soon. From June to August Joey tours with HippieFest
2009 (more to come) ... all this while he and his sons, Joe
and Shaun are putting together an acoustic CD of old and new tunes.
A very exciting project! So, if you haven't joined The
Beatle Brunch Club yet ... get moving.

It
Was 40 Years Ago Today
On a recent Beatle Brunch program, we featured Fab Four Flip
Sides, B sides, or perfect pairs if you will. Well, this week
back in 1969 two perfect pairs were joined in matrimony: Paul
McCartney & Linda Eastman and John Lennon & Yoko Ono.
Paul and Linda met while she was on assignment photographing
the Rolling Stones in London 1967. Linda Eastman (no relation
to the Eastman Kodak family) met The Beatles around about
the time of the release of Sgt. Peppers, and soon began
a long distance relationship, commuting from the US to London,
with Paul. They were married March 12th, 1969 at the Marylebone
Register office in London with Pauls brother Michael
and their dog at their side. They remained married until Lindas
passing in April 1998, having spent nearly every night of
their married lives together. They even toured as a band on
the run family with wings, so they would never have to leave
their four kids behind.
|
The
other perfect pair were John & Yoko. They met while
Yoko was in London in 1966 for an art symposium. She was showing
her art at the Indica Gallery and John was showing interest
in her. They dated secretly, before finally coming clean at
the premiere of Yellow Submarine in late 1968. John & Yoko
were married on the Rock of Gibralter, because of difficulties
with their passports, March 20th, 1969. To this day, Yoko continues
Johns legacy with the careful monitoriing of his music
library and the protection of his legend through various charities
and organizations. Their Double Fantasy album, contained 14
songs which alternated between Johns tracks and Yokos,
was an instant hit, and Yoko said years later, that she and
John had talked of a tour, where he would come out on one knee
and sing, I Want To Hold Your Hand to her in a
loving gesture. Sadly, we never got to see that day, but the
memories of these two perfect pairs stand as an inspiration
to couples Here, There and Everywhere. |

Some Upcoming Beatles Snacks
On The Brunch!
We hope you enjoyed our Fab Four Flip Sides show this past weekend.
Its always nice to flip the pillow over to the cool side
after heating up the front for so long. Thats exactly
what deejays in the 60s did. When a new Beatles single
was wearing out, or they just wanted new material, theyd
flip over to the B side for songs like This Boy, Ill Get
You and I Saw Her Standing There. And as we flip the calendar
over again this week, weve got a nice selection of up
and coming Beatle Brunch programs.
In the spring
of 1968, the boys went to Rishikesh to study with the Maharishi
Mahesh yogi. Much to our pleasure, they returned with 40 new
songs, many of which ended up on the white album.
Neer has
a more productive 10 hours of studio work been done, than what
was accomplished on February 11th, 1963. The Beatles recorded
10 songs for their upcoming 14 song album in less than a day.
Five weeks later it was in the stores and the boys were well
on their way to Fabdom. Its the songs and stories of the
Please Please Me LP.
The Beatles
shouted that from the mountain top 20 times in their career.
Well take you to the toppermost of the poppermost once
again for Beatle Number Ones, including their domination of
the top 5 on the chart.
Join me
in the Meadowlands for the 35th
Annual Beatles Festival in the New York metro area. Ill
be hosting Beatles Trivia, Name That Beatle Tune, plus taking
your Beatle Brunch requests on The Brunch microphone and on
video for the AfterBrunch. A splendid time is guaranteed for
all! |
Get
Festified and Fortified With
Beatle Brunch In New Jersey

Plaza Meadowlands Hotel Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March
27-29. In addition to the a-list of guests, Ill be
there with Beatles Trivia and Name That Beatle Tune contests
and you can win great Beatles prizes like we mentioned earlier.
Well even have a special Kids Edition of Beatles Trivia,
