Beatles
Still Inspire Artists Today
After
more than 40 years, The Beatles are still inspiring new talent,
from groups like Oasis to young painters like you're about to
meet, Beatle fans have a bond that's held together by the music
and spirit of a band of friends from Liverpool, who met and
played together, changing the face of popular music forever.
Jared is one special guy. The portrait featured here was so
loved by Sir Paul McCartney, that he himself signed it and raised
$11,000 for charity. Jared lives in South Florida where he and
his family listen to Beatle Brunch on Majic102.7 (www.majic1027.com)
every Sunday at 10 am. Jared has inspired poets and presidents,
including Bill Clinton, and now we are proud to showcase his
work in the hopes of inspiring future artists who can keep the
dream alive. Here is Jared's special story as told by his father.
Jared's story. Jared has always been very artistic. Even
when Jared was three years old, we knew he had an artistic gift.
It was actually very easy to spot, because Jared is a triplet,
and he was the only one able to stay in the lines of his coloring
book. Jared loves painting portraits of people and still lifes,
but like anything else, he needs to practice to get better and
better. And what better way to practice, then to paint a portrait
of a celebrity. If people recognize it when he's finished, we
know he did a good job.
As a Beatle fan, I asked him to paint me a portrait of Paul
McCartney. He did such a good job with it, I contacted his company
and asked them if they would pass it along to Paul. They were
very happy to accept in on Paul's behalf. Once Paul arrived
in the US and came to their office, it was given to him. They
told me Paul not only loved the painting, but he loved the fact
that it was painted by such a young talent. Paul signed it and
donated it to his upcoming charity auction for Adopt-a-Minefield.
Paul's company shipped the painting out to LA. (I had sent it
to their NY office.) I believe the auction was October 15, 2004,
and shortly after that they told me the painting had been purchased
for $11,000. Of course we were all thrilled that Jared's painting
brought in such a large sum of money. Jared's reaction was,
"Wow, and I painted that in my bedroom in between playing
video games."
All this came about right after Jared had painted a portrait
of President Clinton, and was able to present the President
with the painting. Today, we are told that his painting is hanging
up in the Bill Clinton Presidential Library.
Thanks again,
Brad
